Bobby Joe Barrett

Mr. Bobby Joe Barrett, age 83, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Mr. Barrett was born in Cullman, AL on September 28, 1937, a son of the late Lawrence Edward “Ed” Barrett and the late Emma Rebecca Massey Barrett. Bobby had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart. He was a member of Wimberly Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Engineered Fabrics after many years of service. Bobby enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Twilley Barrett; and three sisters: Maddie Lou Harrvell, Georgie Crawford and Brenda McNabb.

Survivors include his daughter, Marcia Kenney, Cedartown; son, Sammy Barrett and his wife, Missy, Summerville; granddaughters: Lacey Whisenant, Rockmart, Millie Barrett, Rockmart and Victoria Thompson (Dalton), Summerville; grandson, Cody Barrett (Daniell), Rockmart; great-grandchildren: James Hodges, Gauge Hodges, Drizston Hodges, Aubree Hodges, Zane Hodges, Trendon Jackson, Dakota Stubbs and Adalyn Stubbs; great-great-granddaughter, Alina Hodges ; sister, Emily Sparks, Cullman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Wimberly Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Josh Moon, Jimmie Hodges, William Hodges, Russ Whisenant, Josh Deems and Cody Barrett.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
