Leslei Elizabeth Lott Adams, age 58, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Rome surrounded by family after a life filled with love and laughter.
Known as "Kook" or, most recently, “Kookie” to those who loved her, Leslei was born on September 28,1964, in Rome, GA, daughter to Frank “Bud” Lott and the late Billie Sue Grimes Lott.
She was a proud Polk Countian all her life and was a graduate of Cedartown High School. She received her master’s degree from The University of West Georgia and worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist for more than 30 years for the Polk County School District. She was a member of Rockmart First United Methodist Church and enjoyed collecting primitive antiques, rescuing animals of all types, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
Leslei was fierce. She fought cancer for over 13 years. She had grit and sass and loved to laugh. But more importantly, she loved to make others laugh. She was sister, mother and friend all rolled into one, always ready to provide advice, a helping hand, snacks, a cold beer, a joke, a meal, an alibi, or anything else that was needed at the time. She also wasn't afraid to speak her mind if she felt the need. She was a champion of the underdog in whatever form that took and was always rooting for those who needed to be uplifted or needed a shoulder to lean on. Her strength and resilience made her a rock for those who knew her. Those needing help were never turned away and were always welcome in her circle. Her home and table were open to all.
Leslei's great passions were her family, working with children and animal welfare.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Billie Sue Grimes Lott.
Leslei is survived by her loving husband David Adams of Rockmart, GA to whom she was married on May 9, 1987; daughters: Lindsey (Jody) Landrum of Rockmart, GA and Logan Adams of Rockmart, GA; grandchildren: Carter and Walker Landrum, whom she absolutely adored; father, Frank “Bud” Lott; sister, Neeve (Barry) Owen of Rockmart, GA; brother, Barton (Julie) Lott of Rockmart, GA; aunt, Zoodie Woodward; nieces and nephews: Mary Ella (T.J.)
