Willie Mae Poneleit

Mrs. Willie Mae Poneleit, age 84, of Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020.

She was born in Chattanooga, TN on November 8, 1935, a daughter of the late Andy Woods and the late Mary Bishop Woods. Mrs. Poneleit had been a resident of Georgia since the age of eighteen and lived the past year in Rockmart. She enjoyed working with her flowers and plants and loved her Hershey's Kisses. Mrs. Poneleit was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Cecil, John Junior, Frank, Herbert, Elb, Lubell, Jean, Cathy, Robert, Billy, Pearl and Rosalee.

Survivors include her husband, John Charles Poneleit, of Cumming to whom she was married on September 22, 1977; daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Lesko, Rockmart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with family and friends delivering eulogies.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until the memorial hour at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and marks are recommended.
