Ad Adkins

Mr. AD Adkins, age 86, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. 

AD was born on March 24, 1936. A son of the late Lonzo Adkins and Ester Finley Adkins. Mr. Adkins lived in Cedartown until joining the Army and serving bravely in the Korean War.  He moved to San Diego and lived there for 20 years. He worked at the San Diego Union Tribune.  He later returned to Georgia where he worked for Georgia Power in security and then owned and operated AD Donut Shop in Rome before retiring as a security guard for Shorter College. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 sons: Jerry Jenson and Steve Jenson. 

AD is survived by his son, Michael Adkins; step-son, Chad Owens; 5 grandchildren; sister, Betty Lindsey and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. 

In keeping with Mr. Adkins wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services are being planned at this time.
