Albert Lee Bennett

Mr. Albert Lee Bennett, age 90,of Aragon, GA passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015.

He was born in Gordon County, GA on February 20, 1924, a son of the late Charlie William Bennett and the late Pearl Lucille Branch Bennett. He had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County and was retired from the State of Georgia where he had worked in maintenance with the Department of Transportation. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Lindale Church of God and also attended the Silver Creek Church of God. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Owens Bennett; daughter, Patricia Smith; granddaughter, Victoria Nicole Hatfield; grandson, Daniel Ballard; and two brothers: Odell and Grady Bennett.

Survivors include his five children: Shirley Henderson, Aragon, Diane Edwards, Aragon, Peggy Stegall, Silver Creek, Douglas Bennett, Cartersville and Jerry Wayne Bennett, Rome; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. James Robert Sutton and Rev. Elgin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Leslie Henderson, Chris Henderson, John Hooper, Patrick Ballard, Titus McGuire, David Shiflett, Stephen Ballard and Brandon Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will include: Greg Henderson, Nicholas Henderson, Justin Bennett, Matt Bennett, Caleb Henderson, Hunter Henderson, Owen Henderson, Cooper Henderson and J. Mac Bennett.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
