Allie Lee Fife Gates Gorman

Mrs. Allie Lee Fife Gates Gorman, age 97, of Rockmart, GA passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at her residence.

She was born on February 9, 1916 in Moro Bay, Arkansas a daughter of the late Ben Johnson Fife and Minnie Cisco Fife. Mrs. Gorman spent most of her childhood in Arkansas. She had lived in Rockmart since 1997 moving here from Mississippi. Mrs. Gorman was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart and enjoyed fishing, sewing and quilting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Bennie Gates and L.E. Gorman; a son, Morgan Lee Gates; two sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include two daughters: Susie Lee Gates Coward of Texas and Darleine Gorman Hicks and her husband Ronnie of Rockmart; son, Harvey Lee Gorman of Salem, AL; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. David Warriner officiating. A eulogy will be given by a granddaughter, Rhonda Eichenberger.
Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will include: Rhonda Eichenberger, Rod Hicks, Kurt Eichenberger, James Coward, Austin Halbrook and Brandon Hicks.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
