Alvin E. Wigley

Mr. Alvin E. Wigley, age 81, of Aragon, GA passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022.

Mr. Wigley was born in Aragon, GA on February 20, 1941, a son of the late James Wigley and Ida Lou Cash Wigley. Alvin lived the greater part of his life in Polk County where he was a member of Collard Valley Baptist Church. Alvin loved to go camping, woodworking, raising his livestock, and helping others. He worked for Goodyear Mill for over forty years before retiring.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Wigley; son, Terry Lynn Wigley; grandson, Blake Wigley; three brothers: Harold, Junior and Charlie Wigley; and two sisters: Ann Nell Crumley and Geneva Tinnan.

Alvin is survived by his daughter, Ginger Shaw (Dennis); two sons: Rev. Earl Wigley (Tammy) and Steven Wigley (Season); nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers: Paul and Cecil Wigley; sister, Louise Sanders; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Benefield and Rev. Earl Wigley officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Matthew Wigley, Nathan Shaw, Nick Wigley, Braydon Wigley, Eli Wigley, and David Wigley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
