Amy S. Brown

Mrs. Amy S. Brown, age 65, of Cedartown, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Aragon, GA on December 9, 1946, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward Pittman and the late Gladys Clinton Pittman. Mrs. Brown had lived most of her life in the Rockmart area and was a 1964 graduate of Rockmart High School. She was a Registered Nurse at Redmond Regional Medical Center and was a Certified Physicians Assistant. In her spare time, Mrs. Brown loved quilting and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers,Mr. John C. Pittman on July 13, 1949 and Mr. Thomas R. (Dude) Pittman, on July 11, 2010.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Rick Brown, Cedartown, to whom she was married on January 30, 1981; son Michael Brown, Jacksonville, AL; brother, Larry Pittman and his wife Sadie, Aragon; four sisters: Kathy Aiken and her husband William (Sonny), Aragon, Penny Long, Villa Rica, Jane Platt and her husband Bob, Aragon and Patricia Motes and her husband Randy, Aragon; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart with Rev. David Warriner officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children?s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
