Mrs. Annie Lee Nation, age 73, of Cedartown, GA passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 upon arrival to a Rome medical center following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Polk County, Georgia on May 14, 1938 a daughter of Dewey Holcombe and Ruby Green Holcombe. Mrs. Nation had lived the greater part of her life in the Cedartown area. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Nation was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Nation on March 10, 1998; by her mother, Ruby Holcombe ; her father and step mother: Dewey and Katherine Holcombe and sisters: Frances Myers, Ruth Osborne and Nellie Jo Hungerman.
Survivors include a son, Randy Holcombe, Cedartown; daughter, Sherry West Carnegie and husband Tim, Manning, S.C.; brothers: Charles Holcombe and wife Rilla, Rockmart and Doyce Holcombe and wife Doris, Roswell; sister, Karen Burchett and husband Jack, Tallapoosa; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Northview Cemetery, Cedartown with Rev. Larry Davis officiating.
Pallbearers will include: Nathan Williams, Brad Chandler, Brian Holcombe and Dallas Holcombe.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
