Mrs. Annie Ruth Stansell, age 88, of Rockmart, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at her residence following several months of illness.
She was born in Taylorsville, GA on November 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Henry Grover Cleveland and Lela Popham Cleveland. Mrs. Stansell had been a resident of Rockmart for the past thirty years moving here from Floyd County. She was a retired employee of Tip Top Poultry. Mrs. Stansell was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Stansell; three brothers: Paul, Horton and Jackie Cleveland and by two sisters: Frances Gentry and Imogene Thompson.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law: JoAnn and Ricky Goss, Aragon; two grandchildren: Pagan Nails, Rockmart and Keenan Goss, Rockmart; three great grandchildren: Jordan Goss, Hayvin Guyton and Krysta Guyton; two sisters: Marie Agan, Aragon and JoAnn Lucas, Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Floyd Memory Gardens with Bro. Jack Goss officiating.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the graveside funeral service of Mrs. Annie Ruth Stansell.
