Audie C. Barber

Mrs. Audie C. Barber, age 92. of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Paulding County, GA on June 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Carson P. Carter and Minnie Louella Carter. Mrs. Barber had been a resident of Rockmart for over seventy years where she was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Goodyear Mill and was a retired employee of Union Carbide of Cartersville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Barber on July 22, 1994 by two sons: Tony Barber and Andy Barber and by nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons: Ervin G. Barber and his wife Pat, Cedartown and Terry Barber, Rockmart; three grandchildren: Mark Barber, Kelley Barber and Ashley Asad; three great grandchildren: Josh Barber, Harley Johnson and Faris Asad; two sisters: Maudie Elders and Claudie Harding and a brother, Wilbert Carter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Johnson and Rev. Calvin Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Hills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Mark Barber, Josh Barber, Kevin Dempsey, Asa Dempsey Junior Carter and Jason Carter.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until the service hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
