Barbara Jean Haney

Barbara Jean Haney, Age 76 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Barb was born on February 01, 1943 to Mattie Elizabeth Brownlow Haney and William Clyde Haney. She was a 1961 graduate of Rockmart High School. She was a legal secretary at Burr and Forman LLP in Atlanta. In her retirement, Barb enjoyed working as a substitute teacher for the Polk School District and especially Rockmart High School. Barb was a fan of Rockmart High School sports and a huge fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Barb was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church in Rockmart and introduced her church home to everyone she met.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Robin Garcia and Robin’s husband Victor Garcia, their children Mitchell and Kendall of Katy, Texas; companion Frank Cook of Rockmart, Frank’s children Kirk and Beth Cook and Kay Cook; her beloved dog Baylee; sister Myra Haney Quintana and Andrew Quintana of Cartersville, Georgia; sister Shirley Haney Ingle of Rockmart, Georgia; niece Susan Hulsey of League City, Texas; nephew Beau Gresham of Cartersville, Georgia; Nieces and Nephews: Linda Brannon Odom, Stacy Brannon Smith, Diane Wachtel, Vicki Wright, Scott Blair, Ricky Trenary, Tracy Haney Donnan, Terri Haney Callicott, Butch Haney, Jerry Yarborough, Kay Yarborough, Renee Kaiser, Gina Ingle, and Tammy Ingle. Grandnieces; Danielle Decker, Michaela Holloway and Peyton Brown. Great Grand’s Brooklyn and Xavier Solomon, Arianna Oliva, and Braxton and Klara Holloway.

Family, friends and others whose lives Barb touched are invited to the service at Victory Baptist Church, 15 Hendrix Road Rockmart, visitation 1 p.m., service 2 p.m. on December 20, 2019.
