Mrs. Barbara Jo Singleton, age 82, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 following a brief illness.
She was born in Borden Springs, Alabama on January 15, 1932 the daughter of the late Ad L. Hulsey and Ruby Ripley Hulsey. Mrs. Singleton had lived in Rockmart the greater part of her life where she was a homemaker and a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ for forty four years. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Clark E. Singleton on November 4, 1989 and by a grandson Cody Singleton on February 21, 2007.
Survivors include two sons: Doug Singleton, Sr., Rockmart and Gayland Singleton, Warner Robbins, GA; two daughters in law Terry Brown Singleton, Rockmart and Thai E. Singleton, Warner Robbins, GA; one grandson Jonathan Douglas Singleton, Jr. and granddaughter in law, Sonya Singleton of Rockmart; four great grandsons: Cody Singleton and Nic Singleton of Rockmart, Chris Wallace of Paulding County and Andrew Williams of Cedartown; one great great grandson, Wyatt Wallace of Paulding County.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Ministers Alvis Miller and Craig Hallman officiating. A eulogy will be given by her grandson Doug Singleton, Jr.. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Minister Josh Clevenger officiating.
Pallbearers will include: Doug Singleton, Jr., Cody Singleton, Nic Singleton, Wayne Hardy, Butch Thompson, Travis Ingle, Ricky Parham and Andrew Williams.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
