Barbara Ruth Hinz

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Hinz, age 74, of 85 Carter Mountain Road Rockmart passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 in a Rome Medical Center following a brief illness.


She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 13, 1934 a daughter of the late Howard Milton Hutchinson and Roxie Adelia Strait Hutchinson. Mrs. Hinz had been a resident of Rockmart for the past 16 years moving here from Oroville, California. She retired with 23 years of service with the Butte County Library System. Mrs. Hinz attended the First Baptist Church of Rockmart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Richard P. Hinz, Sr. in 1973 and by eight brothers and two sisters.


Survivors include a son, Mr. Richard (Rick) P. Hinz, Jr., Rockmart; a brother, Mr. Dean Hutchinson, Reno, Nevada and a number of nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Wayne Wheeler, Billy Wheeler, Carl Wheeler, Joey Wheeler, Jared Wheeler and Josh Wheeler.


The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
