Bengie Leatherwood

Mr. Bengie Leatherwood, age 54, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 in a Rome medical center following an extended illness.

Bengie was born in Rockmart, GA on April 23, 1960 the only child of Rayford Leatherwood and Juanita Nolen Leatherwood. He had lived all of his life in Rockmart ,was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church and worked for Boise Cascade in sales. Bengie was preceded in death by his father on November 15, 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Nicole Leatherwood Buckner and husband T. J. of Rome, GA and a son Perren Leatherwood of Atlanta, GA.; mother, Juanita Leatherwood of Rockmart, GA.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Billy Hitchcock, Ricky Jefferson, Richard Wright, Taft Champion, Dwayne Canup and Matt Bailey. Steve Thomas will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
