Bennie Lee Wigley

Mr. Bennie Lee Wigley, age 81,of Aragon, GA passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Lindale, GA on January 17, 1934 a son of the late Dallas C. Wigley and Ruth Childers Wigley. He lived in Polk County the greater part of his life following his sixteen year career in the United States Air Force. Mr. Wigley loved to travel and had visited all 48 of the continental United States. He loved to do mechanical work on his truck and his camper and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Wigley Stringer; son, Edward Keith Wigley; three brothers: Donald, Wendell, and Harold Eugene Wigley; and sister, Glenda Wigley.

Survivors include his four children: Kaye Runyon, Cedartown, Kennie Wigley Centre, AL, Kevin Wigley, Rockmart and Krissy Williams, Rockmart; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Earline Robinson, Baytown, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Hooper officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Brown-Wright post #12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will include: Chris Wigley, Levi Wigley, Marc Stringer, Nathan Wigley, Scott Williams and Judd Hueth.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
