Bessie L. (Becky) Adkins

Mrs. Bessie L. (Becky) Adkins, age 71, of Sandy Path Rockmart, GA (the Yorkville Community) passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 in Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, GA.


She was born in Cedartown, GA on February 22, 1940 a daughter of the late George Washington Lindsey and Bessie Lee Brown Lindsey. Following her marriage on November 9, 1957 to Alton Adkins she became a military wife and mother making her home in both the United States and Germany. Upon retirement in 1971 from the military the family has made their home in the Yorkville Community. Mrs. Adkins was a member of the Crossroads Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Adkins and by seven brothers and sisters.


Survivors include her husband, Alton Adkins, Rockmart; son, Donald Adkins and wife Robbie, Rockmart; daughter, Judith Todd and husband Kasey, Rockmart; three grandchildren: Nicholas, Philip and Holly Todd; sister, Judy Forrester, Powder Springs and brother, Bennie Lindsey, Cedartown.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Fennell officiating. Interment will follow in the Yorkville Memorial Cemetery.



The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
