Betty Jo Greene

Mrs. Betty Jo Greene, age 83, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on October 10, 1932 a daughter of the late John and Flora T. Davis. Mrs. Greene and her family made their home in Dunwoody for many years before returning to Rockmart in 1995. She was a retired employee of the General Motors Company working in Doraville, GA. Mrs. Greene was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church where she played the piano. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her yard.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Greene on February 28, 1997; by a daughter, Gretna Ann Walraven on February 20, 2007 and by two brothers: Denny and Jerry Davis.

Survivors include two daughters: Gina Hudgins and husband Wayne, Doraville and Debby Adams and husband Ken, Rockmart; five grandchildren: Niki Powell, Matt Bennett, Cullen Sheffield, Madyson Adams and Kendall Adams; five great grandchildren: Mckenzie Powell, Cullen Sheffield, Winston Sheffield, Colton Bennett and Abigail Bennett; one sister, Jeanne Roebuck, Sugar Hill, GA and one brother, Johnny B. Davis, Rockmart.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the New Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Larry Davis and Rev. Jason Purser officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Ken Adams, Wayne Hudgins, Kendall Adams, Cullen Sheffield, Vic Roebuck and Matt Bennett.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
