Billy Allen Gillespie

On July 17, 2016, Billy Allen Gillespie, age 77, of 2140 Everett Springs Rd, Armuchee, GA joined his Father Robert (Bob), Mother Eda, Brothers Robert and Charles, and wife Marjorie in heaven to spend eternity serving Jesus Christ. Billy was born in Calhoun, GA on August 31, 1938, lived his entire life in Gordon and Floyd County and attended Grace Fellowship Church in Cave Spring, Ga. Billy was a building contractor and also owned various businesses throughout his life.

Billy’s surviving relatives include son Kenyon and his wife Cindy, son Wayne and his wife Julie, daughter Carolyn and her husband Ronnie, daughter Teresa and her husband Dave, step-son Mike and his wife Tammy, step- son Eddie, step-daughter Kathy and her husband Shawn; Grandchildren include Melissa (Matt), Trista (Braden), Joshua (Tamara), Julia, Kinney (Casie), Kurtis (Tabitha), Kris (Jordan), Kristen (Chris), April (Robert), Brooklyn, Taylor (Jossie), Tyler, Hunter, Kyle and Shawna (Austin); Great grandchildren Ellie, Avery, Ivory, Jordan, Diego, Samantha, Sydney, Gabriel, Alaina, Kris, Kaylee, Tristen, Josiah, Jeremiah, Kinley and Drew; Mother of his children and close friend Virginia and his best friend since childhood Malcolm.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Grace Fellowship Church located at 6635 Blacks Bluff Rd SW, Cave Spring, Ga. Billy’s son Kenyon, Pastor Dale Byars, Pastor Mark Evans and Pastor David Warriner will all be speaking during the service. Music will be performed by Trista and Braden Ragsdale, Wayne and Julie Gillespie along with the Second Baptist Singers and Tony Patterson. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery located at 725 Kingston Ave, Rome, Ga.

Pallbearers are Kinney Kinsall, Joshua Vaughan, Braden Ragsdale, Merritt Baggett, Malcolm Talley, Shawn Nichols, Paul Peterson and Billy Lowery.

Mr. Gillespie will lie instate at the church on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home of Rockmart, GA is conducting the funeral for Mr. Billy Allen Gillespie.
