Billy Garrett

Mr. Billy G. Garrett, age 74, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on January 28, 1940, a son of the late Emory Gartrell Garrett and the late Ruby Florine Sorrells Garrett. Mr. Garrett had lived all of his life in Polk County where he retired from Goodyear Mill after 43 ½ years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving years 1962-1965 where he was involved with the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Survivors include his son, Billy Wade (Butch) Garrett, Rockmart; two daughters: Beverly Dawn Maginess, Cedartown, Anita Lynn Giudice, Rockmart; two sisters: Alma Helms, Rockmart and Shirley Mixon, Rockmart; one brother, Bobby Ray Garrett, Rockmart; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Ed Pasley officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include: Josh Hackney, Matthew Giudice, Randy Maginess and Bobby Helms.
