Billy Joe Warren

Mr. Billy Joe Warren, age 74, of 1031 Old Collard Valley Road, Aragon, GA passed away suddenly Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his residence.


He was born in Geraldine, AL on June 7, 1934 a son of the late H.G. Warren and Agnes Hall Warren. Mr. Warren lived in Rome for a number of years before moving to Aragon in 1969. He was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church and Rockmart Masonic Lodge # 97 F. & A.M.. He retired in 1993 with 39 years of service from the General Electric Plant in Rome where he worked as a dispatcher. Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Yarbrough Warren on May 17, 2000, by a son, Mr. Ronnie Warren on September 28, 1987 and by a brother, Mr. Bobby Dale Warren in 1961.


Survivors include two sons: Mr. Joey Warren and Mr. Tracey Warren, both of Aragon; one daughter, Ms Connie Benson, Dallas, GA; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in the Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Hoyt Coker and Rev. Jimmy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with the West Georgia Memorial Club in charge of Masonic graveside rites.


Grandsons and cousins will serve as pallbearers.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
