Billy Ray Williams

Billy Ray Williams, age 61, of Aragon, GA passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024. Born on April 10, 1962, Billy was a son of Hazel Costlow Williams and the late Paul Williams. 

Raised in Taylorsville, GA, Billy found solace in his work and embraced the values instilled in him by his Baptist faith. As a high school graduate, he embarked on a career that allowed him to contribute to his community. For years, Billy worked within the Public Works department, ensuring that the city he loved remained clean and well-maintained.

Beyond his professional achievements, Billy was known for his artistic abilities. He possessed a gift for drawing that brought beauty into the world around him. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Billy had a deep appreciation for music and would often lose himself in its melodic embrace. His love for listening to various genres filled his life with harmony and provided comfort during difficult times.

In addition to his father, Billy was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Williams. 

He is survived by his beloved children, Lynne Williams, Kendra Ferguson, and Billy Williams, Jr.; mother, Hazel Costlow Williams; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Marcus Williams, Randy Williams, and Allen Williams; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

The family will have a visitation on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home and Crematory located at 304 W Elm St in Rockmart, GA. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to share stories and support one another during this difficult time. A memorial service will follow the visitation starting at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Edwards and Rev. Tony Lyle officiating.
