Birdie Ruth Wilson

Mrs. Birdie Ruth Wilson, age 87, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Floyd County, GA on May 5, 1928 a daughter of the late Dee Wilson and Maggie Mae Holcomb Wilson. Mrs. Wilson had lived most of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church of Cedartown. She was a former employee of Rockmart Manufacturing and had also been employed by Bar L Barbecue.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. White on December 6, 1956; by a grandson, Colby Brown; by a granddaughter, Audra Lynn Fuller and by four brothers: Johnny, Willis, Louis and Cliff Wilson.

Survivors include four sons: Larry Wilson and wife Martha, Monticello, GA, Clarence Willis White and wife Barbara, Rome, GA, John Hoyt Brown and wife Tammy, Rockmart, GA and Lewis Ray Brown and wife Janice, Aragon; two daughters: June Ann Fuller and husband Pete, Youngstown, FL and Ruby Faye Duke, Rockmart; sister, Lucille Hartley, Tampa, FL; brother, D.J. Wilson, Rockmart; seven grandchildren, sixteen. great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Searles officiating. Interment will follow in the Bush Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery of Rome.

Pallbearers will include: Joseph Lee Hulsey, Stevie Wilson, Justin Brown, Bubba Wilson, Robert Jordan, Brandon Streetman and Mark Cobb.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home and at other hours may be contacted at 190 Williams Road Rockmart.
