Mrs. Bobbie Frances Thomas, age 78, of Rockmart, GA (the Yorkville community) passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Paulding County, GA on April 9, 1939 a daughter of the late Claude Allen Lemon and Euther Alexander Lemon. Mrs. Thomas had lived in the Polk and Paulding County area for many years. She had also lived in Virginia, Mexico, Mississippi and Tennessee with her family as her husband served as a Pastor and Missionary for many years. Mrs. Thomas was a devoted Pastor's wife, mother and grandmother. She taught Sunday school and on many occasions served as a speaker at Women's Conferences.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Richard Thomas and a brother, Jerry Allen Lemon.
Survivors include a son, Barry Thomas and wife Lori, Barnesville; daughter, Beverly Thomas Battles and husband John, Rockmart; two sisters: Carolyn Hutcheson, Rockmart and Annette Gamel, Concord, NC. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Jones and Rev. Bob Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will include: Barry Thomas, David Thomas, Justin Thomas, John Battles, David Battles and Jonathan Battles.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the service hours at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Bobbie Frances Thomas.
