Bobby Martin "Bob" Bishop

Mr. Bobby Martin “Bob” Bishop, age 91, of Taylorsville, GA, passed away Saturday evening, May 18, 2024.  

Bob was born on September 30, 1932, a son of the late Ben Franklin Bishop and Ethel Lee Thomasson Bishop.  He had lived his childhood years in Aragon, GA, and most of his adult life in the Metro Atlanta area.  Bob moved to Taylorsville in 2010 and was a member of Saint Frances of Assisi Catholic Church in Cartersville.  He retired from the City of Atlanta Water Department.  Bob enjoyed visiting flea markets and going to the movie theater.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth McCarthy Bishop, his step-mother, Maggie Lee Bishop, brother, Ben Bishop, and a step-brother, Clarence Bishop.

Bob is survived by a niece, Rita Foster, and special friends, Bill and Sharon Brown.

Bob’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Friday evening, May 24, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

A private graveside and interment service for Bob will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
