Brenda Akins

Ms. Brenda Faye Akins, age 63, of Summerville and formerly of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Brenda was born on September 3, 1958 in Rockmart, GA, to her parents: Arthur Doyl “Tom” Akins and Minnie Lee Godfrey Akins. She lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and had worked for Meggitt building fuel Cells for many years. She enjoyed pitching horse shoes, bicycling, fishing and softball. Ms. Akins had dedicated her life to her family who she loved dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Akins and a sister, Nancy Holliday.

Ms. Akins is survived by her loving brother, Tommy Akins, nieces: Jessica Sanders Stiles and Bessie Hudson (David); great- nieces: Braylee Watkins and Krissy Merva (Nick); great-nephew, Nick Gibbs (Brooke) and special friends: Barbara Dodd (Glenn) and Holly Stahl.

Memorial Services for Ms. Akins are incomplete at this time. As soon as they are finalized, they will be announced here by The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory.
