Brenda Carolyn Ballard Graham, age 81, formerly of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday morning, August 26, 2023, in a Carrollton, GA medical facility.
Mrs. Graham was born in Rockmart on June 4, 1942, daughter of the late Inez Weaver Ballard. She had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart, prior to moving to Heard County seven years ago. Mrs. Graham retired from the Polk County Sheriff's Department, where she served as a jailer, and had also worked with Goodyear Mill for several years prior to her employment with the Sheriff’s Department. She was a faith Christian who loved God and was a member of The Church of God. Mrs. Graham enjoyed walking through God’s nature and admiring his work, loved lending a hand to others, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Lee Rogers, and a brother, Jerry Ballard.
Mrs. Graham is survived by three children, Dennis Graham of Franklin, GA, Lagina Graham of Rockmart, and Scott (Daphne) Graham of Rockmart. Six grandchildren, Matthew, Jason, Haley, Jesse, Kaitlyn, and Hayden, along with numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Graham will be Wednesday afternoon, August 30, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Graham’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Matthew Graham, Jason Graham, Jesse Rogers, and Walker Graham.
