Mr. Carl Daniel McEntire, age 79, of 91 Live Oak Circle, Aragon, GA passed away suddenly Saturday, January 9, 2010.
He was born in Bartow County, GA on August 19, 1930 a son of the late J. McEntire and Beatrice Stevenson McEntire. Mr. McEntire had been a resident of Polk County for the past 50 years. He was a retired employee of the Paulding County Road Department and for many years has worked as a cattle farmer in this area. He was of the Baptist faith and was an ordained minister.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Rose Walraven McEnitre to whom he was married on June 25, 1949; five children: Michael (Barbara) McEntire, Aragon, Joe (Gail) McEntire, Cedartown, Donnie (Debra) McEntire, Plainville, Barbara (Johnny) Garland, Calhoun and Deborah (Richard) Davenport, Silver Creek; special pet companion, Sparkle; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; special granddaughter in law, Heather Cook; and one sister, Ruth Ann Gravitt, Plainville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Randy, Barry and Lamar McEntire, Keith and Clay Hulsey, Josh Davenport, Scott Silvers and Clifton Dodd.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
