Charles A. Sherman

Mr. Charles A. Sherman, age 82, of Aragon, GA passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at his residence following several months of illness.

He was born in Cartersville, GA on July 8, 1930 a son of the late Alvin Updike Sherman and Gladys Naomi Harris Sherman. Mr. Sherman had lived the greater part of his life in the Aragon area and was a retired employee of Shaw Industries of Cartersville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. Following his retirement he enjoyed spending time as a woodworker.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Chris Earley.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Moore Sherman of Aragon to whom he was married on November 16, 1979; a daughter, Lisa Sherman, Aragon; a son, Paul Sherman and his wife Jennifer, Aragon; five grandchildren: Kaitlin Earley, Jessie Earley, Michael Sherman, Elizabeth Sherman and Noah Jackson; three brothers: Wayne Sherman, Calhoun, Wyman Sherman, Thomaston and Harvey Sherman, Conyers; a sister, Frances Christine Sawyer, Leed City, TX and a daughter in law, April Earley, Cartersville.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens with the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will include: Travis Jackson, Tommy Moore, Shane Moore , Neil Lowe, Edward Hembree and Dorian Templeton.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Charles A. Sherman.
