Charles Denny Davis

Mr. Charles Denny Davis, age 82, of 239 Bellview Road Rockmart passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 in a Rome Medical Center.


He was born in Bartow County, GA on March 24, 1927 a son of the late John Davis and Flora Thomasson Davis. Mr. Davis had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County and was of the Baptist faith. He retired following 20 years of service with the Georgia ATF Department as an investigative agent. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Sara Davis, by his son, Mr. Ronnie Davis and by a brother, Mr. Jerry Davis.


Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie C. Davis of Dahlonega; one grandson, Mr. Ryan Davis of Tennessee; two sisters: Mrs. Jeanne Roebuck, Suwanee and Mrs. Betty Jo Greene, Rockmart; one brother, Mr. Johnny B. Davis, Rockmart; three step children and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Caleb Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Ken Adams, Kendall Adams, Victor Roebuck and Kyle Henderson.


The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon prior to the funeral service at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
