Charles F. Williams

Mr. Charles F. Williams, age 85, of Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Cedartown, GA on March 12, 1930 a son of the late Sam Brown Williams and Eula Mae Bell Williams. Mr. Williams had lived all of his life in Polk County where he was a member and former deacon of the Wimberly Hill Baptist Church.. He retired from the General Motors Lakewood assembly plant in Atlanta. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Williams on September 18, 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Atkins Williams, Rockmart to whom he was married on December 26, 1998; daughter, Deconda Holliday and husband Wayne, Rockmart; son, Ronald Williams and wife Patricia, Rockmart; two step sons: Michael Atkins and wife Debbie, Cedartown and Jeffrey Atkins and wife Debra, Cedartown; brother, Edward Williams and wife Joyce, Rockmart; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Tucker and Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Robert Wright officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Sammy Parnell, Mike Anderson, Robert Atkins, Brian Atkins, Cecil Reddish, Nick Hughes, Joshua Holliday and Chad Williams.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
