Charles H. Schildt

Mr. Charles H. Schildt, age 70, of Kades Cove Drive, Dallas, GA passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.


He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on October 1, 1940 a son of the late Henry Schildt and Mildred Herrmann Schildt. Mr. Schildt had been a resident of Dallas, GA for the past ten years moving there from Marietta, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Mr. Schildt was a retired building engineer having been employed by Portman-Berry Corporation. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Schildt was preceded in death by a sister Virginia McKenna and a brother Ronald Schildt.


Survivors include his wife, Janice Maxwell Schildt of Dallas, GA to whom he was married on April 22, 1967; one daughter, Donna Schildt Julian and husband Chris, Wynantskill, N.Y.; one son, Chuck Schildt, West Palm Beach, FL; one sister, Joan Quinlan and husband Jim of Clark, N.J.; one brother, Artie Schildt and wife Eileen of Catersville, GA; four grandsons, two granddaughters; one great grandson, eight brothers and sisters in law and a number of nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Barry Maxwell, Phil Williams, Ken Williams, Ron Schildt, Chris Julian, Nick Goudreau, Scott Goudreau and Lee Collins.


The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Charles H. Schildt.
