Chris Brown

Mr. Chris Brown, age 45, of 1165 Browning Road Rockmart passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 in a Rome Medical Center following a brief illness.


He was born on November 16, 1963 in Polk County a son of Kenneth Jackson Brown and Fronnie Mae Dyer Brown. Chris had lived in the Rockmart area all of his life , was an avid outdoorsman and had worked as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his father Jackie Brown on June 8, 1993 and by two aunts, Mozelle McBurnett and Idell Dyer.


Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Fronnie Brown; a sister, Mrs. Tina Williams; a brother, Mr. Tony Brown and a step daughter, Mrs. Jada Powell all of Rockmart and a number of nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Parris, Rev. Charles Dyer and Rev. Hoyt Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.


Mr. Brown will lie instate at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Monday from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.


Pallbearers will include: Ronnie Dyer, Keith Witcher, Zack Howard, Curtis Jones, Jason Howard and Corey Watson.


The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
