Clara Ann Clark

Mrs. Clara Ann Clark, age 72, of Rockmart passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on December 20, 1939 a daughter of the late Ray Lavon Sorrells and Annie Lee Purcell Sorrells. Mrs. Clark had lived all of her life in the Rockmart area and was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church. She was the former owner and operator of High Point Grocery. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband Gene Clark on April 18, 2009; brother, Ray Sorrells and by four sisters: Elizabeth Jones, Virginia Moates, Barbara Sherman and Mary Coalson.

Survivors include her daughter Colleen White and husband Todd of Rockmart; four grandchildren: Brett Johnson and Bonnie, Rockmart, Evan Johnson and Erika, Killeen, TX, Cortney White and Jeremy, Rockmart and T.J. White and Kim, Rockmart; sister, Teresa Davis and Bill, Douglasville; six great grandchildren and caregiver, Amber Lindsey.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey and Rev. Colt Deems officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Shane Roberts, Keith Roberts, Bryan Roberts, Rodney Moates, Evan Johnson and Clay Johnson.

Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make memorial gifts to the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
