Mr. Clay Joseph Hebert, age 71, of Rockmart, GA passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Louisiana on December 30, 1944 a son of the late Alcenia Joseph Hebert and Stella Burg Hebert. Mr. Hebert had been a resident of the Rockmart area since 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. While a resident of Louisiana he worked as a boat captain in the oil industry and had worked most recently as a self employed carpenter. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his children and watching cartoons with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Daigle and a brother, Edward Hebert.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Hebert of Rockmart to whom he was married on October 13, 1972; six children: Felix Hebert. Rockmart, Randy Hebert, Sr., Houma, Louisiana, Paul Hebert, Wendy Burnett, Carrollton, Adam Hebert, Rockmart and William Hebert, Armuchee; brother, Ernest Hebert, Houma, Louisiana; two sisters: Florence Bijeaux, Houma, Louisiana and Margaret Hebert, Houma, Louisiana; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2106 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Brother Kent Martin officiating and eulogies given by family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until the memorial hour at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that financial gifts be made to a memorial fund account being setup at SunTrust Bank to assist Mrs. Hebert with final expenses.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of memorial arrangements for Mr. Clay Joseph Hebert.
