Corine Carter Edwards

Mrs. Corine Carter Edwards, age 78, of Rockmart passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 in a Rome medical center.

She was born on February 14, 1934 in Polk County, GA a daughter of the late Howard Carter and Willie Mae Hulsey Carter. Mrs. Edwards had lived all of her life in the Rockmart area, was of the Baptist faith and was a former employee of Nantucket of Cartersville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chesley F. Edwards on July 14, 1995 and by three brothers: Orie, Alvin and James Carter.

Survivors include a son, David Edwards and wife Joulette of Trion, GA; one sister, Shirley Williams, Cedartown and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Colt Deems officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Chris Hutto, Charles Carter, Shane Carter, Ricky Plunk, Phil Williams and Josh Gilliam.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
