Daniel Lee Purser

Mr. Daniel Lee Purser, age 83, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at his residence.

He was born in Haralson County, GA on April 6, 1932, a son of the late Ervin Lee (E.L) Purser and the late Easter Mae Bollen Purser. Mr. Purser had lived most of his life in Polk County. He was of the Baptist faith and had a great love for gardening. He spent his working career at Shaw where he retired after many years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Purser; four brothers: J.C., Verdell, Raymond and Hoyt Purser; and one sister, Nora Childers.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Purser of Rockmart, to whom he was married on June 11, 1984; six children: Kathy Smith and her husband Jerry, Aragon, Jane Purser, White, GA, Robert Purser and his wife Chong, NC, Beth Povich, TN, Dawn Venable and her husband Eric, Cedartown and Lamar Williams, Rockmart; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Wright, Smyrna, GA; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM in chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Timms officiating.. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Eric Venable, Chuck Smith, Trevor Martin, Trystan Smith, Jeremy Purser, Cody Povich and Wayne Purser.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
