Deidra Ann Matthews Millwood

Mrs. Deidra Ann Matthews Millwood, age 58, of Rockmart, GA, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

Mrs. Millwood was born on November 29, 1962 in Wrens, GA, to her parents: Eddie Jack Matthews and Etta Faye Garrett Matthews. Deidra had lived in Rockmart since 2004 and prior to living in Rockmart, she had lived in Atlanta. Mrs. Millwood was a devoted Christian who loved her Jesus and was involved at Mt. Paran Central Church of God in the Sunday School Department and on switchboard. In her free time, she loved to sing, play the piano and cook. Deidra previously worked in corporate America for 25 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents: Elias Monroe Garrett, Alice Geneva Hutchings Garrett, Rev. John L. Matthews and Ruthie Bell Hutchinson Matthews.

Mrs. Millwood is survived by her loving daughter, Kyla Miranda Millwood Granger (Cody) of Calhoun, GA, brother, Mark Matthews (Clare) of Orlando, FL, and several cousins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Deidra Ann Matthews Millwood will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 4:00 PM in The Chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dick Miller and Rev. Steve McBrayer officiating and a eulogy given by Mrs. Patti Miller. Interment will follow the service at Polk Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Mark Monroe, Kevin Dansby, Lynn Gaston, Steve Lewis, Kevin Keith, Duane Dansby, Steve Pearson and Stan Babb. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Steve Bennett, John Templeton and Nathan Gaub.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a visitation on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 3:00 PM until the service hour at 4:00 PM.
