Diane Pinkard Marchbanks

Mrs. Diane Pinkard Marchbanks, age 67, of Douglasville, GA passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 in Wellstar Douglas Hospital, Douglasville following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Polk County, GA on November 4, 1943 a daughter of James Woodrow Pinkard and Rena Mae Clark Pinkard. Diane was a 1961 graduate of Rockmart High School. She moved to College Park, GA in 1961 where she met and married Paul Marchbanks on November 21, 1962. They moved to Douglasville, GA in 1986 where she was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of their home based business, Marchbanks Carpet Cleaning. She was preceded in death by her father James Woodrow Pinkard and by a brother Billy Pinkard.


Survivors include her husband, Mr. Paul Marchbanks, Douglasville; one son, Mr. Tim Marchbanks and wife Cheryl, Douglasville; six grandchildren: Luke, Eva, Owen, Nahum, Faith and Hope Marchbanks; Mother, Mrs. Rena Mae Pinkard, Rockmart; three brothers: Mr. Jimmy Pinkard, Rockmart, Mr. Harold Pinkard, Cedartown and Mr. Gary Pinkard, Hiram; one sister, Mrs. Jackie Aiken, Forrest Park.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with M. Frank Philips officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
