Doris Bentley

Mrs. Doris T. Bentley, age 81, of 592 Portland Road, Aragon, GA passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her residence following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Polk County on March 13, 1927 a daughter of the late Grover Teems and Lois Brookshire Teems. Mrs. Bentley and her late husband returned to Polk County from Jonesboro, GA in the early 1980?s where they had made their home for a number of years. She was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith. Mrs. Bentley was preceded in death by her husband Dalton in 1990 and by a brother Charles Teems.


Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Thelma Waddell of Aragon and several nieces and nephews including a nephew Marty Waddell and his wife Angie who have been her care givers during her illness.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery of Cedartown.


Pallbearers will include: Chris Parks, Marty Waddell, Shane Williams, Andrew Harbuck, Keith Lentz and Clay Bentley.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
