Doris Copelan

Mrs. Doris Copelan, age 82, of Aragon, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. She was born on September 17, 1938 in Gray, GA, to her late parents: Robert Ethridge and Lucille Brown Ethridge. Mrs. Copelan had moved from Forsyth, GA, to Aragon in 1977 and had lived in Aragon since then. Doris was a member of the Church of Christ for many years and had formerly worked as a beautician. In her free time, Doris enjoyed painting, crocheting, reading and studying her Bible and watching hummingbirds. Mrs. Copelan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Copelan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymund Copelan on May 19, 2021 and her sister, Vera Smith.

Mrs. Copelan is survived by her loving children: Kim (Darrell) Wright of Aragon, GA, Stacey (Ricky) Bennett of Aragon, GA, Dutch (Regan) Copelan of Aragon, GA, grandchildren: Clay Bennett, Elizabeth Forsyth, Alex Black and William Raymund Copelan, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, Bobby Ethridge and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Copelan will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ethan Black officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Clay Bennett, William Raymund Copelan, James Raymund Forsyth, Michael Birdsong, Richard Thompson, Heath Mills and Kevin Mills.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 1:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.
