She was born in Centre, AL on June 2, 1926 a daughter of Lewis Charles Cline and Annie Loraine Marler Cline. At the age of fourteen her mother died and she had to leave school to take over her mothers' responsibilities. She was an excellent parent and balanced her work responsibilities and homemaking responsibilities. Mrs. Childers was an excellent cook and was at the center of the Childers Family events.
Following her retirement from Rhineharts' she felt the need to return to work and took a job at Eastside Elementary School in the cafeteria where she worked for eight years before she retired for good.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Freddie Jean Childers Scoggins and by three brothers.
Although the last four and a half years have been filled with distress and serious health issues let's remember this lady as an important element in the business development in Rockmart as well as a giving and important character of the Childers Clan.
