Mr. Doyce E. Streetman, age 76, of Aragon, GA passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 in Rome following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Aragon, GA on July 22, 1938 a son of the late Jim T. Streetman and Lois Cash Streetman. Mr. Streetman had lived the greater part of his life in Aragon where he was a member, deacon and song leader of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He loved to sing and vacation with his family in the mountains. Mr. Streetman was a retired employee of the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Thompson Streetman on December 25, 2012 and by nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his son Kenneth Streetman and wife Dawne, Aragon; three grandchildren: Kendra Jackson and husband David, Jr., Dallas, Brandon Streetman and wife Ashley, Dallas and Joshua Streetman, Aragon; four great grandchildren: Allison Jackson, Charlee Jackson, Morgan and Kayden Streetman; brother, Archie Streetman and wife Marlene, Dallas; sister, Delia Williams, Rome; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Sutton, Rev. Tim Deems and Rev. Colt Deems officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Streetman will lie instate at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
Pallbearers will include: Brandon Streetman, Joshua Streetman, David Jackson, Jr., Olin Streetman, Chris Hindmon and Everett Sutton.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
