Dr. Harold H. Moore, age 83, of 2018 Old Cedartown Road, Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 in a Rome Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born in Rome, GA on October 13, 1926 a son of the late Alvin Rowell Moore and Rosa Anna Green Moore. Dr. Moore had been a resident of Rockmart since 1954 moving here from Rome, GA. He was a graduate of the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Illinois and practiced as a Chiropractor in Rockmart for over 49 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II in the South Pacific Theatre on the Islands of Saipan and Guam. Dr. Moore was a member of the Rockmart Church of Christ and was a former member and secretary of the Rockmart Kiwanis Club. He was co-founder of the North West Georgia Archery Club. Dr. Moore loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also collected arrowheads and knives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Mr. Morris Moore on May 5, 2001.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Mickey Moore of Rockmart to whom he was married on September 26, 1947; two sons: Mr. Kenneth Moore and his wife Rosa and Mr. David Moore and his wife Belinda both of Rockmart; one daughter, Ms. Susan Bennett of Rockmart; 8 grandchildren: Jeremy Moore, Gabe Moore and wife Adrianna, Dan Moore, Jed Moore, Matt Moore, Kyle Pinkard, Lorie Allred and husband Chris and Kalee Bennett; 10 great grandchildren: Trent Moore, Nicole Moore, Megan Moore, Lauren Allred, Abby Grayce Allred, Camden Allred, Kenleigh Pinkard, Brook Pinkard, Lyndon Pinkard and Emily Pinkard; one niece and one nephew also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Ministers Alvis Miller and Craig Hallman officiating. His sons Kenneth and David Moore will give a special tribute. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Brown-Wright Post #12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.
Pallbearers will be his eight grandchildren and the Bojangles Breakfast Club will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
