Duane R. Wood

Mr. Duane R. Wood, age 66, of Cedar Bluff, AL, and formerly of Rockmart, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Mr. Wood was born on June 25, 1957, in Rockmart, GA to his parents, Rogers Wood and Yvonne Ray Wood. Duane lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart before moving to Cedar Bluff this past March. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go hunting and fishing any time he could. He was self-employed as a carpenter and was Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Yvonne Ray Taff.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Upton Wood of Rockmart, GA; son, Sean R. Wood of Cedar Bluff, AL; step-sons: Michael Hall of Rockmart, GA, Mathew Hall of Cedartown, GA and Max Hall of Rockmart, GA; father, Rogers Wood; several grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters: Penny Campbell and her husband, Chuck and Tina Evans and her husband, Alan and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Mr. Wood’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal services are being planned at this time.
