Dustin "Scott" Warren

Dustin “Scott” Warren also know to many as “Spanky” departed this world on October 7, 2023 at his residence. Scott passed away surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with cancer.

Scott was born in Rome, GA. He graduated from West Rome High School and attended Jacksonville State University where he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity.

Scott was a very talented singer, songwriter and loved his guitar “Earline”. Some say he was musician that chose a simple life of good times and music over the pursuit of wealth. The weekend of The 1st Annual SpankyJam, a tribute given by his friends at one of his favorite spots, The North Mesa. Here, we all witnessed one of the most awesome displays of wealth that Rome, GA has ever seen. It is rare that you see so many people share their love for someone. To know him was to love him. He shared the love of his music to all. The music scene lost a beautiful soul and legend. As an accomplished guitarist Scott was a member of several bands over the years traveling and exploring new adventures with Cool Beans, Captain Soularcat, Collard Green Berets, and the Booze Mountaineers.

Scott is survived by his loving mother Deborah Yancey Decker (Greg) of Houston, TX. His beloved soulmate Brandy Walker. His beloved sister Shannon Cooke (Marcellous) and children Holden Mayes, Christian Cooke (US Army), and Kiersten Cooke. His Sister Stevie Cordell (Shawn) and children Presley and Zeke Cordell. Scott is preceded in death by his father Stephen H. Warren, Grandparents: Earl and Jean Yancey, Charles and Dorthy Warren.

A Celebration of life for Scott will be held at the Lewis Loft in the private event room upstairs above LaScala 413 Broad Street Rome, GA on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 7:00 pm.

In keeping with his wishes Scott will be cremated. Until we meet again my son.
