Mr. Dewight Campbell, age 74, of Dallas, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 17, 2024.

Dewight was born on July 3, 1950, a son of the late Homer Campbell and Virginia Gibson Campbell. He lived his childhood in Dallas and his adult life in Polk and Paulding counties. Mr. Campbell was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and was a member of Rockmart Church of God. He enjoyed building things, tinkering with old trucks and working in his garden. Dewight’s favorite time was spent on the ballfield with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Dewight was preceded in death by a son, Jason Campbell, a brother, Irvin Campbell, and a sister, Wanda Smith.

Dewight is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Weaver Campbell, whom he married May 15, 1976; son, Brent (Michelle) Campbell; three grandchildren, Parker Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, and Cody Newborn; sisters, Ruth Yarbrough, and Martha (W.C.) Hutcheson; brother, Wiley (Lynn) Campbell; brother-in-law, Doug (Stacey) Weaver. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Campbell will be held Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Pastor James Cordell officiating. Dewight’s son, Brent Campbell, will bring the eulogy. Following the service, Dewight will be cremated.

Dewight’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of the arrangements for Mr. Dewight Campbell.
