Earline W. Akins

Mrs. Earline W. Akins, age 79, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Haralson County, GA on November 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Robert A. Weaver and the late Marie Chupp Weaver. Mrs. Akins was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Rockmart-Aragon Hospital, Paulding Memorial Hospital, the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta and the office of Dr. Brad Ward. Mrs. Akins also worked for Lockheed-Martin in Marietta. She was the coordinator of the American Red Cross community blood drive for the past twenty years. In 2009 she was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Red Cross Southern Blood Services Region for her efforts to promote the blood drive throughout the community.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Campbell, Jr. and a daughter, Regina Beth Forsyth.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law Keith and Patsy Campbell, Rockmart; five grandchildren: Brooke Hicks, Rockmart, Brent Campbell, Rockmart, Amanda Hesler Kinnemore, Dallas, Ryan Molock, Rockmart and Katie Molock Brown Miller, Silver Creek; six great grandchildren: Megan Tan, Amber Hicks, Gavin Tan, Gracie Tan, Mary Ella Campbell and Londyn Klaire Miller; brother, Ben Weaver, Cedartown; three sisters: Elizabeth Moss, Rockmart, Mary Williams, Rockmart and Robbie Jenkins, Cedartown; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating and scripture reading by her grandson, Ryan Molock. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Hoyt Lewis officiating.

Active pallbearers will include: Adam Jenkins, Robert Atkins, Brian Atkins, Lee Weaver, Neil Hogg, Drew Bowers and Lee Forsyth. Honorary pallbearers will include: Mike Atkins, Jeff Atkins, Ricky Weaver, Ricky Presley and American Red Cross Volunteers.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
