Edith Name

Edith Anna Name, 83, Kokomo, passed away at 10:15 AM Saturday, February 14, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Georgia.

She was born November 2, 1931, in Lafayette, to Arthur C. Jewell and Elizabeth (Everhart) Jewell.

On May 5, 1948, she married Noble Charles Earl Name. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2009.

Edith was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kokomo. She was a housewife and freelance artist. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, traveling, and loved spending time with family.

Survivors include, son, Nobel “Skip” Charles E. and wife Sandy Name of Alpine, Utah; son, John L. and wife Kate Name of Sheridan; son, Bill and wife Carla Davin of Kokomo; son, Tim J. Name and fiancé Samantha Beyer, both of Kokomo; daughter, Ginger and husband Kirk Alderfer of Rockmart, GA; sister, Lois Johnson of Sarasota, FL; brother-in-law, Dewey O. Name of Homasassa, FL; 21 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews including Edith Lock, Harrison “Bub” Owen, and Bill Name all of Kokomo.

She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen A. Name, niece, Ruthanne Morgan, daughter in law, Kathleen Name, brother, Arthur Jewell, and a sister, Virginia Wortman.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,332 West 300 South, with Bishop Jim Sidel officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster Street.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kathy A. Name Memorial Scholarship Fund at Western High School. Envelopes will be provided at the services.
