Edward C. Teems

Mr. Edward C. Teems, age 87, of Lindale, GA passed away Monday, September 21, 2015.

He was born in Aragon, GA on May 24, 1928 a son of the late John Calvin Teems, Sr. and Era Brookshire Teems. Mr. Teems had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County but had made his home in Lindale for the past six years. He was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly and was a retired self employed entrepreneur. Mr. Teems was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1946 to 1949.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Ruth Teems and Judy Radford and by three brothers: John C. Teems, Jr., Cecil Teems and Lewis Teems.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Doris Waddell Teems of Lindale to whom he was married on August 18, 1951; four children: Shirley Bearden, Dallas, Van Teems, Aragon, Arnell Podosek, Hiram and Dana Teems, Lindale; brother, Doyle Teems, Centre, AL; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery with the Honor Guard of Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion in charge of military honors.

Pallbearers will include: Jamy Teems, Cory Teems, Zach Teems, Paden Teems, Jeff Chandler, Kris Bearden, Chance Hayes and Cal Teems. Honorary pallbearers will include: Becky Knott, Jessie Craine, Jordan Hayes, Samantha Teems and Mollie Teems,

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 in memory of Mr. Teems.
